TEST REQUIREMENTS

Unless you are training under a VKA recognized school who is authorized to test, video demonstration of skills is required to advance in any VKA program. The following elements are required for any advancement:

1. Video demonstration of all techniques required for the belt level testing for.
2. A written outline of what you would expect (or require) of a student testing for the rank in question if you were the instructor. This demonstrates your ability to grasp the concepts beyond a simple repetition of the skills.
3. The written outline could include such elements as Form / Kata; Weapons forms / Kata; Sparring; One step sparring; Self-defense techniques; Grappling techniques/Ground Fighting techniques; Unarmed defenses against weapons.

Color Belts - $30 - Testing every 4 months.
Brown Belts - $60 - Testing every 6 months.
1st Dan Black Belt - $100 - Testing 3 years.
2nd Dan Black Belt - $125 - Testing 3 years.
3rd Dan Black Belt - $150 - Testing 3 years.
4th Dan Black Belt - $175 - Testing 3 years.
5th Dan Black Belt - $200 - Testing 5 years.
6th Dan Black Belt - $225 - Testing 5 years.
7th Dan Black Belt - $250 - Testing 5 years.
8th Dan Black Belt - $300 - Honorary Rank, no testing. Rank awarded solely at the discretion of VKA.
9th Dan Black Belt - $300 - Honorary Rank, no testing. Rank awarded solely at the discretion of VKA.
10th Dan Black Belt - $300 - Honorary Rank, no testing. Rank awarded solely at the discretion of VKA.
